Tier 1 dependent visa for child - refusal - need help

Post by maximux79 » Tue Nov 16, 2010 1:00 pm

Hi, I had applied for Tier 1 dependent visa for my child (6 months old) and the visa was rejected. The following reasons were mentioned:

(i) Mother's dependent visa copy was not submitted
Note: I'm the father, and the main applicant and I'm living in UK for the last 4.5 years. I had the photocopy of my wife's passport and visa copy, but the VFS personel in Bangalore office, gave back the photocopies saying that marriage certificate is enough and also saying spouse name is presnt in my passport. Thsi is what has happened, but not sure if UKBA will believe it.

(ii) Maintenance fund not maintained.
Actaully, I had maintained around £3000 GBPs in two accounts for the period in question, which was explained in a covering letter. One of the account is PNB UK bank current account in GBP. I had £3000 GBP, cleary mentioned in the statement. The case worked mistook, it as 3000 INR and reported that it amounts £44 and rejected the application.

In the refusal letter, they have mentioned that we have right to appeal and have sent IAFT-2 form along with the refusal letter. I don't know if its full rights for appeal or only admin appeal.

I'm planning to appeal in UK. Please advise if I can win the appeal without solicitor's help. Any idea on the timelines?

Thanks
