IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Exam.

sushdmehta, thank you but could you tell me what A1 would equate to as an IELTS score? Would that be 3, 4?

I've looked here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Eur ... _Languages and it just says breakthrough level?

I am finding the scoring very difficult to figure out. I think I read that 3.5 is adequate on IELTS. However, it states that for TOEFL the required score is 87 (this being level B2). On speaking to a friend who deals with recruitment at a university she said they ask for a grade of 87 for Master's students. Therefore this seems unlikely to equate to Level A1 on the CEFR. Does anyone have any advice on this?
