I am in the same situation - waiting for my ceremony letter.Muz wrote:
I called the council but they haven't received anything on me yet. Is this normal. I know I received my approval letter asap due to the eclosed self addressed special delivery envelope. Perhaps the invitation for the ceremony might take the usual 7 to 10 days in second class post.
Should I be worried?

I sent my application 14th of October, on 23rd received the acknowledge letter. Since then, anything at all, I'm thinking to phone them and ask about it but I'm gonna wait a few more days.Smallfamily wrote:Has anyone sumitted their citizenship application on 25th Oct or around this date and heard anything after acknowledgement letter from Home office regarding their application or have any other info. I appied on 26 October, recieved at HO on 27th, with an acknowledgement a couple of days later. Card Payment on 2 November. I called HO today to tell them I wished to change my address. They told me a decision on my application has already been made and was posted out at 12.24 on 16/11/10. Like you, I applied for myself, wife and minor child.Smallfamily wrote:Has anyone sumitted their citizenship application on 25th Oct or around this date and heard anything after acknowledgement letter from Home office regarding their application or have any other info. Best of luck mate.
Mate, I have been waiting for 9 weeks and 2 days. As I have said before, I called UKBA numerous times and each time I got the standard answer. Additionally, I just got the job of my dreams but UKBA seems to want to prevent me from proving my eligibility to work by holding on to my passport, thus, I have had to request my passports back this Wednesday and I hope that it will force someone to take a look at my applicatiom.ICEBREAKER wrote:Is anyone there who was waiting his/her application more than 7 weeks. I did apply on 26/09/2010. Still waiting for the approval.

I cannot understand why they are taking so long as my father is naturalised british, wife is british, son is british and I have never committed a crime and always paid taxes, but somehow UKBA has found an excuse to hold on to my application and not process it. It is even more disappointing when people with declared convictions or spent offence get processed in record time, however, people like me are made to wait. I also do not understand why the system is so user unfriendly. In essence we are treated like dirt despite the fact that we have just shelled out £735 of our hard earned money.
Again, to stop winding myself up too much, this is the last time I will be dealing with UKBA as after my approval, I won't have any reason to engage them anymore, so I'll enjoy the ride for one last time.
I hear you, but the thing is when submitting an extremely straight forward application you never expect it to get stuck at UKBA. It does not matter now as done bun cannot be undone and I only decided to pursue a job opportunity 5 weeks after applying.balded wrote:Dude, if you knew that you need your passport, what didn't
you use the NCS service ???

Just spoke to my caseworker, apparently she has been trying to call me for the past 2 days, however, I don't normally pick up unknown numbers (bad habit), anyway she said HO has lost my wife's British passport and they will offer compensation when we apply for a new passport.Tangozebra wrote:Tangozebra wrote:I hear you, but the thing is when submitting an extremely straight forward application you never expect it to get stuck at UKBA. My strategy worked. My application was approved on the same day I asked for my passports back. Hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But they did not return my wife's british passport .

Thanks a lot stylo. I don't know what to say to the people that are still waiting other than take heart and don't lose hope. I got very frustrated as I found the processing process quite bemusing as it is sometimes a first-in-last-out process. Seems illogical, but for unknown reasons it works for HO.stylo wrote:Tongozebrqa
Thanks for posting mate, and congratulations for your good news.
Just a quick word to say there seem to have been a good reason for stalling your applicatoin as your payment had been declined initially. From other posts, that seem to be a show stopper, although they may be all the good reasons for it.
Others waiting for decisions will take heart I am sure. Posting our frustrations withoiut qualifying them with potential reasons for the delay can easily dampen spirits for others still antiously waiting for decisions. We need to be sensitive to that, I think.
Otherwise well done to you, and enjoy all the privilleges that come with the red passport.
