Rejected when switching?

Hi all

I am currently on a Post Study Work visa, looking to switch into Tier 1 General before the changes April 1.

I still have a year left on my PSW visa.

If I apply for the switch, and for some reason I'm rejected, will that negate my (currently active) PSW visa?
Or would they still allow me to stay for the year?

Your visa is valid until the expiry.
