adding a dependant by a tier 1 general dependant

Post by iamxumi » Wed Dec 01, 2010 1:44 pm

Hello,

I need urgent help and advice in adding my newborn child to tier 1 general. My case is a bit different as I am a tier 1 general dependant and not a main applicant. I want to add my child as my dependant instead of my husband's. Is it possible? Currently, my husband is the main applicant and I am his dependant. In simple language, can a Tier 1 general dependant add another dependant to his application?

Tier 1 dependent cannot add dependent to him/herself.

Dependents can only be added for the Main applicant.
Thanks,
Sumit.

Thanks Sumit for your prompt reply. In that case, can the maintenance fund be in the dependant's account instead of the main applicant's?

No. Bank accounts where main applicat is sole or joint account holder should be used for fund
