Tier 1 application put up following question regarding public funds?
"Is the applicant receiving any public funds"
If someone has been receiving public funds in the past but ceases to receive weeks ago?? how would he respond to this question...TECHNICALLY he will say "NO" (despite receiving funds in the past).......sounds like a technical error.
[If you say "NO" to above question, there is no further question to answer in application form]

You certainly do not need to tick any benefit not being claimed now. As you say, the Public Funds question is written in the present tense, so you certainly do not need to tick any benefits not being claimed now.
If you were in receipt of public funds in the past that have since been paid back, you may wish to explain the matter in a covering letter.

I know someone who actually received certain benefit but later realized and contacted council voluntarily & agreed to pay back in installments. But when he/she applied for extention he didn't mention this & simply said "NO" to question of public fund??
