Applied 10 year long residence on 20th Sep 2010

Fee deducted on 22nd Sep 2010

ILR Stamped on 23rd Nov 2010 , It took exact 8 weeks to get my Passport back.

I only submitted previous passports, life in the UK test, photograph and required form. If you don’t have gaps then that’s all you need...

Posting SET (O) and FLR (M) forms

Post by irfankais » Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:44 pm

I am due to apply for ILR first week of January. My current visa expires 31st January 2011. Similarly, my wife's visa expires on the same date. According to long residence rules, she is not allowed to apply with me. I wanted to ask if we can send SET (O) and FLR (M) forms on the same address as by the time, my case is decided, her visa will expire.
Thanks

Apply both the application at the same time but with flr(m) ,write a covering letter to ukba requesting to hold ur wifes flr(m) application until ur application is concluded (also stating u have applied for settlement ).
Add copy of yourpassport/visa+marriage cert+salary slips+bank statement +fotos(you& your wife passport size) .Send it separately with 2 different envelopes but same day would be fine.I am telling from my own experience.

Banks statements in 10 years long residence

Post by kungfuman » Thu Dec 30, 2010 2:02 pm

Hi Guys,,
I have to say this forum alone offers more advise than a myriad of solliticors..thank you for being willing to share your experiences with others..

I have been in the UK since 2000, 6 year student, 1 year PSW and 3 years tier 1 and woud like to apply for ILR under the long residence route. the problem is that over the past 4 months and largely owing to the financial crisis, my wages have been paid frequently. I have seen from some of the entries in the thread that some people are getting favourable responses without including any bank statements in their documentations.

I intend to supply the following:
1.passport
2. letter from employer
3. life in the UK
4.completed form with payment details
5.passport photos
6.cover note with breakdown of travel dates (As suggested by one of the contributors here)

Would that be sufficient? my current tier 1 expires in June 11 .

Thanks in advance and Happy new year to all..

The list above is fine. Long residence (10 years) rules don't require financial statements. Just make sure you have no gaps and are within the limits of your travel allowance.

I applied at the end of October and still have not heard anything, 10 weeks now. Ack. letter received 5th of November.

One of my friends who applied at the same time got his back on Christmas eve.

I know there are people waiting longer than I but the wait is making me frustrated :-(.

Don't worry...very soon there'll be good news. Under what category did you apply?

Hello everyone

Got a call earlier today from my solicitor that my ILR has been granted. It took exactly 10 weeks for my passport to get back.

I would like to thank everyone in this forum for all the help and useful info.

I wish for everyone who is still waiting waiting to hear good news very soon.

All the best
