I plan to apply for Tier 1 (General) Visa for myself alone now, and later apply for dependents (wife and child) after I entering UK (assuming I get the visa of course). The UKBA site states that I have to show a constant minimum balance of £2,800 in the last 3 months prior to my application date. The "Tier 1 (General) Policy Guidance" Document also states the same thing.
However, Part 7 of the "PBS Appendix 1 Tier 1 (General) Migrant Self Assessment" states:
" ... You must have £2,800 available funds for yourself plus £1,600 for each dependant accompanying you or intending to join you in the United Kingdom within 12 months of your arrival in the United Kingdom. This money must be held in your personal bank account for at least 3 months before the date of your application..."
I would appreciate if someone could clarify whether I should have £2800 or £2800 + £1600 + £1600 = £6000 in the bank for 3 months, which includes my wife and kid.
To add to the confusion I came across this link which states that it is not necessary to maintain the minimum balance constantly for 3 months. It states that it is enough if the balance is there for at least 1 day in the month prior to the application.
Can someone please clarify?
Thanks.
