Hello,
I came to UK in 2008 for 2 years and got extension in the year 2010 for another 3 years.
But, for the ILR I have been falling short of 2 months..I am worried when I apply for next extension do I need to masters as when I entered only bachelors was applicable.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kavita

Thanks guys for raising the same issue.
My situation is very similar to Kavita. I applied for Tier 1 extension in Feb 2010, but I still need six months more to complete the ILR 5 year thingy.
As I understand the new rules shouldn't affect us lot, and as push mentioned we should be able to apply for a second extension under the same rules as the one we had for he first extension.
However I am a bit skeptical. I was thinking of going on an early extension early next year. So I would get a visa extension till say Feb 2014 and I do meet my 5year requirement. But I would like to ask the forum members is that, can I apply so early for my second extension.
Thanks a lot for your help.

u Say u got Tier1 in 2008 for 2 years? I thought it was 3 years that time.. and every extension was 2 years thereafter..

Yes I have the same question, how did you get 2 years to start with and 3 year extension. Can you give the exact month you got entry clearance/visa and also when you entered the UK?

Sorry I meant I had HSMP before for the 2 year period. And then I did my Tier 1 extension for 3 years.

Hello ,
Thanks for reading through. Achtung is right, apologies for confusion.I came on HSMP and extended to tier1.I am falling short of 2 months based on my dates.
So my assumption is HSMP extension rules would apply on me for tier1 extension secodn time.
Thanks,
Kavita

thanks all for the reply. Appreciate it...So my question would be if I can apply for the second extension now? My first one expires on Feb 2013?

you can apply anytime, but you will get visa from the date your visa is processed not the expiry date of the visa
