Hi,
I applied for Tier 1 General (self-employed) using same day sevice on 29th Novemebr 2010. Application was taken for further enquires. Can I know how long will the Home Office take to give a decision. Are the times scales for same day service and postal applications same.
Please help, thank you

It all depends how long the verification checks take to complete. Every application is assessed on its merits and therefore your application may not follow the same timeline as other applicant(s).
If the verification checks are completed in a week, you'll receive the visa then but if the verification checks aren't completed in 14 weeks then you may conclude that PEO applications held back for enquiries follow postal application timelines!
regards

Actually I am very surprised to hear that in person applications can also take up to 14 weeks!
It can be quicker to leave the country and make an application in our own countries.
I hope it does not take that long for someone who has paid a premium and therefore expecting to receive a quick service. Otherwise what is the point of paying more?!

Hello NRC,
Good luck with your application, have you heard anything back from them?
Please share your experience of the day of your interview, what did they ask and what was the procedure? Did they keep you waiting for a whole day?
I and many others on the forum will be applying via premium service in the coming few weeks, and your thought sharing would surely be helpful.
All the best again for your outcome.
Many thanks.
Sunny

People generally term a PEO appointment as an "interview", which it is not!

Hi,
I am
assuming that when we attend the premium service appointment at PEO, visa officer usually interviews the applicant regarding the application in question.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks.

It is not so much an interview - but just a process of submitting documents to a case-worker with ability to explain unusual circumstances in person (as opposed to cover letter in postal application).

Ohh I see,
Many thanks for the information. I never knew it's such a simple process if we go in-person.
Regards.

Hi NRC,
I am in the similar situation.
I guess it took around 25 days for you to get the VISA after applying through PEO.
SO was there any number where in you where able to contact and get to know the progress?
Or did you get the visa all of a sudden in the post?
basically I want to track it.
Can you give some pointers.
