Got extension approved for
4 years.
here's the timeline:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HSMP expires - 1x June, 2006
Application sent: 2 May, 2006
Delivered to HO: 3 May, 2006
CC charged : 4 May, 2006
Payment confirmation letter: 8 May, 2006
Passport received: 17 May, 2006
Extension given: 4 years (until 1x June, 2010)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also has a nice letter along with which is
self-explanatory.
Basically the letter says:
Dear Mr <My Name>,
We are pleased to inform you that your application for FLR has been approved. We are returning your documents and passport with endorsment. .....extension under the hsmp programme is normally granted for period for 3 years but due to recent changes made to the immigration policy, the Home Secretary has used discretion and approved extension for 4 years. If at the end of 4 years date, if further extension is required, please use form FLR.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so, since I came to UK in Nov and hence will be 4-5 months short of the reqd 5 year stay, I will have to apply for FLR again and then ILR. Not a problem, if they keep the efficiency levels as it is at the moment.
Didn't the other guys who got approval get a similar letter?
Cheers
