A thought about the refusals....

Having had a conversation a while back with an immigration specialist, he mentioned in passing that ECOs cast more of an eagle eye on applications where the applicant is male (ie the spouse intending to leave Pakistan to come to the UK is Male) and discretion and grey areas worked in by the ECO for Male applicants are more stringent

I know its only anecdotal evidence on the spreadsheet we have but it does seem a large proportion of Male applicants are being rejected

Sept Male Applicant refusals
Unique012
Safia
Dilseabassai
Sara234

August Male applicants refusals
Affy

July Male applicants refusals
T.A.Abbas

June Male Applicant refusals
Yasmin786
Tasawar

In total from 11 refusals 8 have been for male spouses. I have given zehn the benefit of the doubt of being a femlae applicant even though i dont know.

Any thoughts guys??

It can take some time, I've been waiting since the 9th. Now, I think it will be next week. If not then after new year. Since VAC is going to be closed on 16th and 17th this month, due to muharram holidays. Moreover, a week later it will be Christmas.
Do u know what dates they will be closed over christmas.

Hi guys well im back from the solicitors and one good thing is that the refusal officer man has made a mistake on 1 reason for reefusal as he has mentioned that we did not inform the UKBA about our intention to marry in 2007, but we actually didnt marry untill sep 2009 and applied for our COA on 12 feb 2009...My solicitor read it carefully and has told me that the statement they have put in the refusal form is a mistake and can not be a form of refusal, so basicly the only reason for our refusal was my income which i have now got together alot more evidence of all my tax payments over the last 3 years and more pay slips and bank statements :)

Am pleased to have seen that dilseabbassi was receiving some 'on-going' support.

You see one person is in need of help but sometimes others post comments which cover the flow of the thread and so it gets harder for others to catch on.
Personally I read most of the times from the last post made by me OR last post which I have read, but there are people here who tend to go for the last page of this thread and read from there, and then they are unable to help out those whose posts are left behind.

I came across this thread in which refusal/appeal discussion is going on (http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... 843#438843) so I suppose the appeal crew can join in there and gather some ideas. It'll work out a whole lot better if REFUSAL members discuss in one thread and APPLICANTS (who are looking to submit new application or who are awaiting a decision) discuss in this one.

One word of advise to those who have had their applications refused, no point in getting upset for any longer than needed, Allah knows best and sometimes we cannot see his reasons but just for your own comfort you can perhaps explore as to what the reasons might be - it sometimes helps.

Edit: Sheeeeshhhhhhh!!!!! Us September applicants just broke a record, most REJECTED applicants all in Sep, that blows! Boooooo!!!!! Best of Luck to the last 2 applicants Sadz and Tameena!
lol at shadow, ure so right. september must be a vey unlucky month, we shud have waited till october.

I havent been on this forum for a while now and just reading everyones messages, most cases have been overturned.
I applied on 12.05.10 and it was refused on 09.08.10, i lodged my appeal on the 12.08.10 and now im waiting for a letter after the jan 20th 2011 for a court date. they sent me letter that after jan 20th i shall get a letter with my court date on. but some of u had applied after me and lodged your appeal after me and your cases have been overturned, does that mean that mine won't as you guys had got an earlier response than me. also the tribunal service don't have my email address so if it is to be overturned will they post me a letter.

maybe mine won't be overturned as i applied before most of you. and now u guys have got ur cases overturned

I hope inshallah my case is overturnned and everyone else that is waiting.inshallah.

Hi guys, it really does seem like september was an unlucky month for alot of people, im just quite anoyed that they actually made such a obviouse mistake in our refusal but kind of glad that they will see it and re-think it, then all i have to do is give them what there askin for really and i have that and more...so if i can get this all done before xmas i can relax and spend some quality time with family without being a wreck lol me and hubby had a long chat about it today and it really does make us stronger, we have had so much thrown at us and weve come out together stronger than ever nothing can phase us now so were just gona keep on going strong x

I think males get refused because they simply dont want more of them in UK. A male coming here will b taking a job which would otherwise go to a British person, whereas they dont have any problem with females as they are unlikely to work and will remain home, thus not causing any problems jobwise.

The UK wants to control foreigners coming into country for the simple reason that you will read terms in right wing press such as "Foreigners taking our jobs".

Therefore men coming into UK are more likely to be refused than females

I dont understand whats taking so long because i thort applications after the 25th of October were being processed in Islamabad and not UK?? Also when my husband submitted the paperwork he was told 7 weeks.
Hopefully 'necessary formalities' means attaching the visa vignette to the passport. Insha'Allah.

lol @ batley

It's a good observation though. Especially with the coallition (whatever the spelling is) government set on reducing immigrants as much as possible and allowing the homegrown talent to make use of the jobs out there.

Cheers to the no jobs for international students policy 8)

so i finally sent my completed appeal papers off to croydon today by guranteed next day delivery..
i had originally sent my documents on monday by recorded first class delivery but it still had not arrived by today. when i called them at croydon they refused to even confirm if it had arrived even just by the royal mail tracking number. these people are not only slow but very unhelpful.
i then tried faxing the papers but the document was too large. so i think guranteed next day delivery is the way to go.
to anyone waiting to send off their appeals i would recommend that they get it well before christmas to avoid any delays.
when it comes to us they restrict us to calendar days, while they take months to process applications. so unfair!
i hope that everyone waiting gets the result that they hope for. i know this is a very difficult time for all of us and may Allah reward us for our patience.

Tracking application status:

I have VAC reference in the format GRY-PK-12-3456789-X but nothing happens when entered. I have very carefully checked the D.O.B and ref but the website remains unchanged.

Do you know what could be the problem?

thanks
