Hi, my first time here on this board and i need some help
My wife and stepson ( 2yrs old)both applied for visa resident for the uk but when passports returned my wifes had a visa inside but my stepsons did not, only a basic ink stamp with location of embassy and date.
Does this mean he was refused a visa, if so do they tell you why?

update: we had a refual letter with the passports, so i am gutted, seems we didnt provide enough evidence of sole custody so im hoping we can appeal and supply what they need.. is that how it works?
please any thoughts

Yes. Appeal and supply new evidence relating to sole responsibility.

im angry with our lawyer as it seems to me it was something they should have known was needed in our case,
going to cost us more time apart from each other not to mention financial loss
