Travel 2 days before valid visa date

Post by Kbhosle » Tue Dec 21, 2010 3:20 pm

Hi,

I am planning to apply for a Tier 1 visa. I have a Tier2 visa on which i had traveled to the UK for a month. Recently i realized that I landed in the UK on 3/mm/yyyy whereas my valid date on the visa is 5/mm/yyyy.

Now on the Tier 1 visa form i need to mention my previous Travel date 3/mm/yyyy and and visa grant date 5/mm/yyyy.

Please let me know if this will cause any issue in my Tier 1 application.

Regards

Not sure how you managed to get entry to UK before effective date on the visa!

Be truthful, no matter what.

It was so scared when I realized it.

I am going to be truthful, but wanted to know if such thing happened with anyone.

I hope it does not impact my application.

Thanks sushdmehta for your prompt reply.

How come you, the airline staff and the Border Agency officer on landing all missed this?

Are you sure the 3/mm/yyyy is not for some other year. I hope I dont sound rude (certainly dont mean to be), just puzzled by so many people missing this obvious check.

It is of the same year. The passport also has the date 3/mm/yyyy stamped on it on arrival in UK Airport.
I don't know if this is funny or scary. Hope it does not land me in issues.

Did you get this stamp on your visa vignette or other page? Do you have any other UK visa, which will be invalid once you get any other visa?

Technically, you have stayed in UK illegally when you didnt have permission to. As said above, be honest. Not sure if you should write a covering letter and bring attention to this fact. The visa officer may overlook the arrival stamp. Be true on the form anyway.

@manojk005 : I did get a stamp on the visa page and i hold aTier2 visa which should be invalid once i get Tier 1

@gregshukla : I m not going to mention any thing on the cover letter. Will mention the true dates on the form as it is they have all my records with them.

Hoping it will not be an issue and don't know on which ground they should disallow me from having the visa.

Are you still in the UK on Tier 2 or travelling to UK in the near future on Tier 2?

that is very strange and I would blame Border n Immigration more than you. If they checked your passport they should not have let you travel before the start date of your visa and even if from your country you managed, how come Border Force in the UK let you in 2 days before. Very strange.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it too much and will declare it in my application.

I hope you have done so already, as Tier 1 (General) scheme will close / has closed for overseas applicants as of end of day today.
