Training restriction for all Tier1 docs?

Post by fizzi » Sat Dec 25, 2010 10:02 pm

hi guys

need help. currently on tier2, doing FY2 in a NHS hosp. Graduated overseas.
Planning to switch to tier1. But in confusion with the new rule on 23rd'10. It says read carefully Annex D in policy duidence. Some can only get eximption from being restricted to training post if :

1) you hv done graduation in medical/dental degree from UK or

2)if u have been previously granted tier 1 witghout any restriction on training
and need proof from the trust itself and from the dean of foundation school.

Does it mean any other tier 2 doctors who r currently on training post, either foundation or speciality training will no longer be able to do training if they switch to tier 1?

Clearly either stay on tier 2 and do trainning or switch to tier 1 and be a shit and forget your dreams?

Guys please some 1 clarify. so frustrated. Just applied for ST jobs!

thanks

Hi

Switching to Tier 1 will restrict you from working as doctor in training. If you have got job offer in CT1/ST1, ideally Deanry will offer you Tier 2 Sponsorship.

Some people in the past had tier 1 without restriction but not any more as far i know.

So its up to you .Tier 1 or Training?

I Hope Home office will come up something new for NHS after April 2011.Finger crossed. :D

Is there any possibility to come up something encouraging for us in april'11? Any idea? what sort of change it will be?
So its definite that switch from T2 to T1 will restrict training even though I am on training on T2 now!
