Tier 2 employment ended - can apply to Tier 1 WITHIN the UK?

Post by noct » Sun Dec 19, 2010 8:11 pm

Hi guys,

I have ended my employment with the company that sponsored my Tier 2. UKBA guidelines say we have 60 days to leave the country, or we can apply for another tier 1 / 2 visas, if eligible.

I am eligible to switch to Tier 1, and have scheduled a date at the end of the month to do so.

My ques is: when my employment ceased, does my tier 2 visa become invalid immediately - hence invalidated my eligibility to switch to another visa WITHIN the uk? - Surely I should be able to switch from WITHIN the UK in the 60 days period?

Thanks

UKBA has allowed 60 days for a purpose. i.e so that u could find another sponsor or switch into another tier if u qualify. so yes....chill
