Name after Marriage

My wife entered the UK on a Fiancé Visa and following our marriage she has obtained the FLR permit from the Home Office.

It is now her intention to use my surname and we are planning to apply to her embassy in order to change the name in her passport.

Is it necessary to change her name on the FLR permit in order to avoid problems when travelling? The Home Office insisted that the permit was issued in her maiden name!
