7 days or 1 month from the date of getting bank statements?

I am willing to apply dependent visa for my wife from Mumbai. I have got the bank statements updated (regarding maintenance funds) on Monday (03.01.2010). Is it mandatory to apply within 7 days i.e untill 10.01.2010 or is it 1 month. Please somebody help me in this regards. Also is it mandatory to provide tenancy agreement? :cry:
