Form Set M application / when do I get my documents back?

Hi

I made a ILR spouse application on form set m - when do they send back documents that were submitted in support of the visa? It has been 2 weeks since application made.

They send the document back along with the decision paperwork

Can I request my passport and other important documents I'd need for my own use back before they make a decision without jeopardising my spouses application?
