Hi, my husband applied for a spouse visa at the beginning of Nov and we have not yet heard anything, does anyone have any experience with the embassy in Rabat and generally how long they take with applications?

The latest update from Rabat (last week) is that they are still considering October applications and won't start on November submissions for another month.
I'm guessing there was probably an increase in applications Oct/Nov wanting to beat the introduction of the new pre-entry English test.

Really, so will it be longer than the normal 12 weeks they quote do you think? i am becoming more and more inpatinet, i have to admit that we submitted the application 1st Nov in order to avoid the english test, is there a way of tracking applications in Morocco like those made in Pakistan? Did you yourself make an application in Rabat?

Although my husband is Moroccan, he made his application in Spain where we were living the time in 2006. He now has BC.
The information I've given you comes from someone who called the embassy to check on progress and was given this information. They applied, like you in early November and are still waiting. As I'm sure you're aware, they no longer interview in Rabat, so decisions are made on the documents submitted. However, I understand there have been some improvements with their handling of applications following staff 'changes'.

Yes i am aware that they dont interview in Rabat, inshallah all will be fine.
Did there used to be problems with applications in Rabat hence the need for staff changes, i am always sceptical of anything i do in Morocco as its never stright forward.

Least i know now that i will be waiting for a while yet as the information that you have came from someone that phoned them directly they just take so long with with applications its unbeleivable.

i did try to ring them but no one answered. do you know are most applicants successful in their application. I dont think i could have submitted much else to support the application.

As long as you've met the main requirements then Inshallah, you stand every chance of being successful:
You can support yourselves financially
You have adequate accomodation
Evidence of contact etc to show the relationship is genuine

Hi Maroc2010 im in the VERY same boat as you........... my wife and I appied for her spouse visa back on the 5/11/10 and im still waiting....... realistically im kinda expecting a result near the end of the month very early feb. but thats just going on the guidelines on the waiting times website.

BTW can you still login to your application on the visa4uk website????

my husband applied on the 1/11, went to Morocco the week before to take all the necessary documents as i had already tried to post something out there and it took about 4 weeks rather than the 5 days that was estimated here at the post office, (I don't trust the postal system at all there).

When my husband went in to give them the documents they did say these applications usually take 12 weeks, it such a long wait, they dont think how we feel here waiting on tender hooks for a reply, have they made contact with your employer.

I can no longer login to view the application, i thought i had read somewhere that it only stays on there for 30days.

Hi Hish and Maroc2010...just one point. Although the ECO can contact the sponsor's employer they don't always do so, so don't think that if the Employer hasn't been contacted that nothing is progressing.

i am just getting fed up of waiting, is this the first time you have applied for the visa?

still not hear any thing from theme
thy say thy going fone me withing 3 month and it will be same day intervieuw and finelle decision

my hasbund he is in uk he is not moroccon
all most poeple thy apply thy answer them back within 6 weeks maaaaaaaax 8 weeks
i dont know what is going on here
in usual thy answer fast
im sur there is interview asking how we meet and some questions just simple things but as u said the 75% of decision its on documents

yes he lives in tanger, so quite far, when we submitted application i went to morocco and went with him and it wasd quite a long journey on the train. no they have not contacted him yet. i read that if that is right the we will not hear until maybe february.

yes I called the embassy in Rabat and they said that they start cheking the Nove alpplications but they said that they can't tell me if they are cheeking mine so we need to make dua to allah for make it easy for us and give us the visa soon yaaaarab . the phone its working in work time they will answer . you can aske about your file and if there is answer about iit they will say the answer to you Num is 00212537633347
