TIER 1 General to Work Permit

Hi,

I got TIER 1 General visa valid from 2008 Oct to 2011 Oct but unfortunately I couldn't relocate to UK. I had been to UK three times inbetween using HSMP for my business visit and I didnt have any problem so far. Now I got an opportunity to relocate to UK via Intra company transfer. My questions are:

How can i convert this HSMP visa to work permit. The reason is that I need to take my family along with me immediately (say within a month). If i go on HSMP visa then i can't take my wife due to the fact that i didnt maintain the minimum balance for the last 3 months.

I can cancel HSMP and apply for company work permit but i need to be in UK by the end of this month given the time frame i won't be able to get the work permit i believe (pls correct me if i am wrong)

Is there any chance of going to UK and then cancel the HSMP and put a work permit with my onsite company (my office is in both locations). In that case how long the process will take.

Glad if any of you can help me on this tricy situation where i need to be onsite within 2-3 weeks and at the same time i need to take my family in a months time..

when u apply for ict home office cancel ur previous visa (Hsmp)automatically,
