Irish Passport, Living in UK all my life which consulate?

Post by devster » Mon Jan 10, 2011 1:06 pm

Hi folks,

Probably a stupid question.

I am planning on getting married to my Japanese girlfriend in summer. I have an Irish passport but I've been living in the UK all my life, paying taxes etc. When applying for a marriage visa do I need to do it through the UKBA? And when applying to actually get married in Japan obtain the Certificate of No Impediment from the Irish Embassy?

What do you think?

Thanks for your advice.

Are you intending on applying via the European Route or National Immigration rules route.
