WCATT - help

Post by csr » Mon Jan 10, 2011 5:01 pm

I applied for WCATT stamp on 29-11-10, still not received my passport. Now I have my wife visa expiring soon. I have LTR up to 2015. My question is, can I renew my wife's visa without having my passport in hand. What happens if I don't renew my wife's visa until I get my passport back from GNIB.

I would suggest that you go to GNIB and find out with them. Is that an actual visa you're looking for her, or the renewal of GNIB stamp?
Anyhow, what I wanted to say is that I've applied for WCATT on the 13/10/10 and still didn't get my passports back, exactly 60 working days has passed by today.

Marisa, did you contact INIS regarding that? According to their website the waiting time is 40 working days.

Anybody else with this kind of problem (waiting for WCATT more than 40 working days)?
They received my passport on 15th of Nov, will keep you posted.

Hi, miso1. Well, in my case it's even 30 working days, as this was the amount of days indicated on the website at the time application was made. Yes, I wrote to them twice, requesting the information, first letter was sent by standard post and they ignored it, second time using registered mail - I got their reply immediately, saying "due to exessive amount of applications, etc., you'll get your passports back early January " Didn't get anything so far.

I think you should write to the Endorsement section, explaining them the situation and asking for an advice. Another thing you could you, in my view, is to go to GNIB as soon as her stamp is expired, explain a situation to them and get a temporary stamp in her passport for 3 months.

Well, in my case, I've tried several times, holding on the line for 55 minutes once, but it's constantly busy and the same robotic voice saying that the line is busy. I personally think it's a fictional number :?

I will visit GNIB today or tomorrow and will update this thread..

unfortunately, it's not a public office, so you won't be able to see them. and just to explain, it's not the same as GNIB.
by the way, have you seen the new procedures for WCATT. you cannot get WCATT stamp if you were granted LTR, and if you have stamp 4 valid for more than 6 months...[/quote]

WCATT for child dependent

Post by immigrantone » Sat Apr 02, 2011 10:38 pm

I got my stamp 5 recently and have an intention to apply for my child who is an ordinary resident in ireland for 96 months and under 18 years old. Can she apply for stamp 5 WCATT??

only the stamps in the child's passport will be counted. the first registration for children is at the age 16. therefore, your child will not qualify for WCATT stamp yet.

WCATT

Post by immigrantone » Sun Apr 03, 2011 4:23 pm

Thanks for the reply. So then can she apply for the dependent LTR? I had a LTR before my WCATT, just changed my GNIB card stamp 4 LTR to WCATT stamp 5.

We have an Irish citizen child who is 2 years old. Can my other children and husband apply for stamp 4 or stamp 4 EUFAM???

My daughter who will reach 18 soon would she still be dependent on me?

she can apply for LTR as a dependant when she has 5 years of stamps in her passport (16+5= 21 years old). mind you, stamp 2 does not count.
as a dependant she would qualify for stamp 3 for 5 yeqars, not allowed to work without work permit.
i am guessing, you are applying for naturalisation? if you were to get naturalised, your kids and spouse would be entitled stamp 4.

Naturalisation

Thanks for the reply. Can she apply for citizenship after 18? Should she still have stamps after 16? I did not apply for naturalisation myself.
