Can you detail your "supplementary work"? Is it with the same employer?

"Supplementary work" ? Can you please define it? Is it a work you had done for your employer who brought you into the UK on Tier 2?

Yes you can apply for Tier 1 (General) if you meet the following criteria on your current Tier 2 (ICT) visa.

Here is the link - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... onditions/

Conditions of your stay
If we give you permission to stay in the UK, the only work you are allowed to do is:
the job described in your certificate of sponsorship, working for your sponsor; and
an extra job in the same sector and at the same level, provided that you do not work more than 20 hours per week in that job (see below); and
voluntary work.

Hi,

I am having a tier2 visa sponcered by an indian MNC.
I am doing supplementary work(less than 20 hours in the same profession) for different employer.
at present i have 2 employers.
1. Am i eligible to apply Tier1 if i meet the points?
2.If yes to apply Tier1, do i need to get a letter from employer who sponsored tier2 visa?

Please suggest on priority.

Hi ,

Your question and a simple answer :

You can work for the employer only who brought you in and you can't work for any one else ....
Thanks

Supplementary employment is allowed if it meets the criteria.

Hi Paperpusher,

Does my case, working 20 additional hours for different employer,
qualify the criteria for supplementary work?

Yes, as long as you have been strictly sticking to no more than 20 hours per week and the additional work also does not overlap with your working hours of the other job. If the hours overlap, you are in breach.
Do not send me PM's with specific questions - post question in the open forum so others can also benefit from the answers.
