Assigned to caseworker - require more information

Post by JayGee » Fri Jun 18, 2004 1:20 pm

I contacted the HSMP team and was advised that a caseworker has been assigned to my file and have forwarded mail requesting for more information - this was done on 14 June 2004. Alas I have not received the letter yet.

Silly question, what can I expect them to ask for, since I only claimed points for two items, which was (1) work experience [50 points] and (2) past earnings [35 points] amounting to [85 points].

JG,

I think you should start collating more evidence;

You should have provided atleast two forms of evidence for
a) Experience - Refrence letters from employer(s), CV and all sorts of other evidence to verify experience including professional qualifications if appropriate

b) Income - Letter from employer(s), tax returns, payslips, bank statements etc.

Good Luck - there is light at the end of the tunnel..............hopefuly when you DHL the additional information - it wont end up in Australia

Good Luck

Chess, tx

I have provided at least two forms of evidence for

a) Experience - Refrence letters from all employers and detailed CV

b) Income - Letter from employer, payslips, bank statements (6 months).

What else?

By the way - the light at the end of tunnel may be oncoming train!!

Experience: if the reference letter from employer contains the same format / details mentioned in HSMP leaflet, then it should be OK

Past earnings: only 6 months bank statement? Did you submitted tax forms? proof for past one year earnings is required

bank statements for at least 1 yr
Tax proof for last year & possibly this year
Pay slips for last 1 yr

Also, how did you attempt to prove your experience as 50 points worth
There can be few snags there. As senior level work experience and income are connected if you fall short on either the 2nd one gets into trouble too.

JG

You claimed 50 points for work experience i.e. 5 years graduate level work and 5 years Senior level post or specialist job as per HSMP criteria. I don’t understand why didn’t you claim for education ?

SNM, tx - I have 17 years of experience in the ICT environment, covering most aspects, support, app programming, security (CISM), management (ITIL) and don't have an undergrad degree. The HSMP clearly makes allowance for this where one don't necessary have to have degree BUT one must have worked in an environment that requires a degree. Well I have proven (assumingly beyond reasonable doubt) that mine is the case - which now I may very well believe and suspect is not the case according to Case Worker.

I will get six months of bank statements - if that is what they want - should not be a problem - just thought that the six provided already is quite thick and account for a number of pages - but will not mind to provide more. :D

Tx ALL - I remain waiting for that letter - btw why don't they just e-mail me for the details - why did they have to snail mail me?

Btw - upon submission of required documentation to Case Worker - how long do they take to make a decision - assumingly they received my documents?

I wonder if in JG's situation one can call up/email and get information on additional docs from case worker ? Would the HO entertain this call ?

Mini - tx for the thought - however I seriously doubt that they will entertain that - thefact that they ask you for e-mail then use snail mail is just hard to grasp.

Today the letter arrived - - what they want is detailed job-description on letter headed paper from my current and past employers.

Firstly, if I fail to give them all but enough references to their spec to cover at least 10 years, per requirement, does that in itself disqualify me of the 50 points? They did not mention one company because that one was complying with their spec.

Secondly, since they have not asked me for more proof of my income do I pressume that they have accepted the six months bank statement?

I'm almost there - finally - how long after you submit these documents do they take to make a decision?

Kayalami, Chess...anyone :D

JG,

Just provide specifically what they have asked for :)

These people opearte in a 'mechanical' way - feed/provide them with exactly what they want and I can assure in 100% of times you will get the result commensurate to what you provide....

Dont volunteer information - just provide what they asked for - however if you think additional information (i.e that not asked for) will help your case then go ahead with it

As per comments by Chess submit letter as per HSMP spec - check the forum for examples - posts by vayu would be very useful. The case worker will pro-rata your points down based on his/ her scoring of your work experience as per documents submitted - you may end up with 50, 35, 25 or even 0 (unlikely). I would make sure the references were watertight.

I would send in the remaining six months regardless to avoid another delaying request.

Usually within 48 hours.

If you have claimed points for senior or specialist work experience then it is preferable to get references and send them to HO. Waiting for them to ask for it will only result in delays for you.
