Is extension necessary?

I arrived into the country on 18/05/2008 so the 5 year mark will be 18/05/13 BUT my Tier 1 Visa finishes on 17/05/2013. So does that mean I need to get my tier 1 renewed instead of the ILR just for the one day??

No, you may apply for ILR between Saturday, 20 April 2013 and Thursday, 16 May 2013.

Apologies for hijacking this post and I know that there is another question.
For my case, for the dates above, does this mean the application will need to be done via post instead of premium service?
