Prepaid envelope for extension

Post by Rex » Mon May 22, 2006 12:28 am

Hi

Do they use prepaid envelope while sending back our passports?

Should I write senders address as well? like Home Office... etc.
or they will write it themselve.

You are not required to send prepaid envelope, they will send your document beack by first class "recorded sign for" if you are in the UK.

But it is advisable (more safe, not expensive, something like £5) to send them Prepaid "Special Delivery envelope" and they will use this one to send your document back.

You just need to write your address in the envelope, you do not need to write the sender address, they will write it for your.

Good luck with your extension

As you know, if send it via "special delivery" in the morning ,it will guarantee you it will arive the next day, otherwise you might claim them for damage.

As far as I know the tracking system in the royal mail does not work well at least I will say it is not real time.

Good luck
Pantaiema

Thanks Rex and Pant

Hope your information is correct, Royal mail still shows come back later for my documents, I have no way to find out if it reached as I sent postal orders so my account is not going to be debited.

Customer service of Royal Mail says that it has gone to the post box, hope this is wrong as there is no post box no in the address, I have posted to the Cannock address hope this is correct.

Tks

Dear Pantaiema,

I enclosed a special delivery envelope with my last application. HO did not bother using it and they actually sent it back to me with my passport and other docs in an envelope with only a first class stamp. I.e. they did not send it special or recorded delivery, nor did they bother using the one I sent them. Hopefully they do not continue using this method of returning passports to people.

Yes EJ it is true, I have seen similar case to you in this forum. In my opnion it depends on the case worker who is handling the case.

AS you know "special delivery is much more secure then first class recorded sign for". As fas I know they do not mix it with regular letter such as those with first class sign-for, but they have their own personal which is handling and deliver it.

I can not imagine in case the importantdocument such as Degree certificated, are missing ??

Hi all... I submitted an FLRIED on 24 May 2006. I have heard from the LTR Team that a decision was made on 9th June 06. This I found out on 12 June 06. I was told that the passports need to be endorsed and have been sent to the relevant department. I had enclosed a special delivery (pre paid) envelope with my documents etc but have still not got my passports back...
does it take so long even after a decision?
