Spouse of Norwegian wife but settled in the UK, need help!

A friend of mine has recently joined his wife who is a Norwegian citizen who lives in the UK.He was granted entry clearance of six months by the British embassy through which he requested the visa which will expire next month.He needs to know if he is to extend his stay further or if he has to apply for ILR.What does he have to do?
Please, he needs your quick assistance to avoid complications as the expiry of his stay is so close??

What type of entry clearance does he have?

It was a settlement visa.

I'm not aware of a standard 6 month settlement visa other than fiancee. They might exist in some of the more unusual categories.

What exactly did he apply for and what does the visa say on it?

He applied fora settlement visa to join his wife who lives in the UK.
The visa type indicates( VISA EEA FP FAMILY MEMBER)
Initially he was rejected on the basis that she didn't work but after an appeal process and DNA test(They had a daughter born in the UK during their marriage) he was given this six month entry clearance to join her.

I think It's the same.It says VISA EEA FP FAMILY MEMBER

He needs to make an application for a residence card using Form EEA2

If you read the form it will tell you that he does not have to pay a fee.
