Access to NHS services for Tier 1 Parents

This is an area for the discussion of matters related to issues about moving from one country to another. Examples could be about money transfer, moving and packing, validity of driving licence, etc..

It is not a general non-immigration, free-for-all area.

Access to NHS services for Tier 1 Parents

Post by mozez » Thu Jan 13, 2011 7:01 pm

I was reading up your posts on this forum. We are on Tier 1 General visas moving to the uk next week and expecting a baby very soon.

I had a few queries, and i would be greatful if anyone could share thier experience.

1. Are we on tier 1 entitled to NHS care during pregnancy?

2. Are we entitled to free prescriptions during pregnancy?

3. If it free to get the delivery done with NHS for us?

Thank you in advance

Regards

Not entirely correct...

1. yes so long as you register to a local GP.
2. only children, mothers with less than 1 yr old baby and individuals with special needs are free from paying prescription fees. The rest shall pay a nominal amount.
