Dependant visa maintenance of fund - WP to Tier1 General

Post by nm » Tue Nov 09, 2010 10:41 am

Hi,

I have been in UK for the past two year and initial one year was with Work permit and the remaining 1 year under Tier1 General. I would like to bring the dependant to UK and had gone through many post and UKBA website about the maintenance of funds.

Based on my understanding, I need to have the £800+£533=1333 £ in my account for 3 months period.

However, I would like to get it confirmed about the maintenance of funds with seniors as well to avoid confusions.

Many Thanks!!

90 days NOT 3 months. Yes you need to maintain £533 for your dependant.

Push,

I have not completed 1 year in UK, I have maintained £1600 in UK bank for 90 days. Do I need to maintain £800 for myself too?

Please reply

If you are in UK for less than 12 months on Tier1, then you need to maintain atleast £1600 (for each dependant) + £2800 (for yourself) for dependant visa.

I am in UK since 3 months on Tier1 visa. The dependant visa for my wife was rejected due to insufficient funds. I was under the impression that we have to maintain £1600(for dependant) + £800 (for me). Unfortunately, the VFS office in Bangalore/Chennai also misguided me.

Madhu,

I have been in UK for the last 10 months, and I am applying my wife's VISA thru a consultant . They say we only need £1600 to maintain for the dependant and there is no specific figure for myself.

check this link:

It is cofusing now :(

Quoting from below link:
"
If the main Tier 1 (General) applicant or migrant has been in the UK for less than 12 months, you must show that you or they have at least £1,600 to support you, in addition to the funds needed to support them.

If the main applicant or migrant has been in the UK for 12 months or more, you or they must have at least £533 to support you.
"
Check the above text in bold and also check page 9 & 10 in the following document:
