Clarification needed: Return of docs by courier

Post by madmax » Tue May 30, 2006 12:28 pm

Reading the various posts, it is not clear to me what would be the best way to collect docs after processing of HSMP. I would like to arrange a courier to do this, but see messages that say different things about the same courier company. Can I request those of you who have successfully collected docs from HO in the last couple of months to write about the following:
- which courier company can pick up docs without signature ?
- what do I need to do from my side to make sure that they do this ?
- anyone from the USA who did this recently ? (That'd be useful to me)

madmex,

I applied from the states and had the Home Office mail it back via the usual post. It arrived in 5 days and there were no problems, i'm in Washington DC. It's my opinion (and just an opinion) that the postal services in the UK and US are extremely reliable, but i understand if you wanted to have an extra degree of security (i sent mine there via FedEx because i wanted to track its arrival in Doncaster).

If you want to arrange a courier to pick up your returned package, I suggest calling the HO. They were extremely helpful each time i called (how i found out the address for FedEx to get them my application). The easiest number to get through on is 01144 114 207 4074.

Best wishes,
Alison

That's funny, I've always found 0114 207 4074 to be the best number
