You should be ok, as others have suggested. I applied for British citizenship in November 2010 and received it in January this year. I not only had the police clearance certificate (like you), but also Canadian immigration visa stamped (in summer 2009) and still received ILR in November 2009.Deep4ILR wrote:Hi all,
I am eligbile to apply for BC in April 2011. I am 5 year work permit/ tier1 and 1 year ILR.
In nov 2009 I with my family applied for canadian residency visa which is still in progress but at some point in last year we decided not to go ahead with canadian immigration.
Now my worry is they will definitely doubt my future intention that i might leave this country.
1) Do you think this will affect my BC application ?
2) if it affect then how can i show home office that i have decided to Live in this conutry now and not going to canada ?
3) any other suggestion you guys can think for me to have successfull application ??
When i read future intention requirement on home office website, it does not mention anywhere if you have applied for any other country you will not satisfy future intention requirement.
Please help..
Thanks in advance..
Deep..
Don't think you need to own a home to show you are established. I rent. I suppose staying in the UK, not too many trips abroad for extended period (unless for work or business), not moving around too much. There are some examples in the An guide.Deep4ILR wrote:Hey Ray,
Thanks for your information.. its good example...
silly question , but what do you mean by established a home ? did you mean bought a home or just mean a home either bought or rented ??
also could i ask what was your nationality when you applied ??
Thanks,
Deep..
