Hassain,
I don't think that the call centre will have any further information.
I think that they asked about conviction in order to filter the calls. That's a normal standard practice for call centre working.
In order to save themselves some work they try to filter the call and see if there's any way that they can avoid disruption internally.
So they prefer to query with you if you can wait for the licence and query why you want this back before already going to the caseworker and retrieving your doc. I think it's absolutely fine.
As it has been allocated to a caseworker a couple of days ago, you will receive (a positive) reply soon. Don't worry.

I hope you have not applied too early.
You should have been free from immigration restrictions for at least 12 months before applying.
Good Luck

Hi All
My fee was deducted on Jan 5, 2011. Applied on 22 Dec. Have not yet heard any thing so far.
I have seen that ppl who applied on around 20 dec with fee deducted around 4-5 jan 2011 have got their approval letters.
I am expecting mine as well in near future. fingers cross,
MKI

Hi Shaunking
How much did bracknell ncs charge for the private ceremony. We have applied on the 5th and awaiting a decision. Did the bracknell ncs ring you up after they received the letter from the HO?
Thanks

Hassain, the lady at the NCS told us that they also get informed by the HO of our approval. Maybe that is not true then?

HO send letter to the applicant as well as local council(or NCS) so that applicant can book for the ceremony. Unless info reach NCS, council cannot book ceremony appointment.

Yes you will need to call your local council
Register Office...even if you used a different local council for NCS to submit your application (and/or you did not specify a particular council for your ceremony in your application), UKBA will still send your certificate to the local council relevant to your home address.
