Tier-1(General)dependent visa status applied fromVFS chennai

Hi,

Ic. I haven't opted for sms alert and so am not getting any mails too. So I have to check the website for updates or else have to call them and check the status.

If they are not updating their site, then I have to expect anytime from now.

One of my friend's just ring me and told that her passport is received around 1 hr back with approval. Her site was showing Under process but she received her courier today. Even now her status is showing under process. I dont understand what they are doing ?

Applied for Tier-1 dependent visa for my newborn son in VFS-Chennai on 04 Jan 2011.
Recieved email alert today morning(28 Jan) and collected the passport later in the day.
Visa stamped until Mar 2013(same expiry date as main applicant.)

Thanks for the update Maverick. It helps me gauge how long they are now taking. Looks like another 6 working days wait as I applied on the 12th!!

I applied for tier1 general visa on Dec15th in chennai vfs . Still now the status shows as " Still under process under BHC " . I am wondering how they are processing the visa . people in hyderabad get their visa processed more quickly then who have applied in chennai . Also all the applictaions applied in hyderabad and bangalore comes to chennai.
Has anyone who applied in chennai vfs after december 15th has got their visa ?

hey its depend on the case worker i have applied on 31st dec i got it today my friend applied on jan 4 she got before than me call high commsion not vfs for status

I could nt reach them at all . Im trying to reach them ..trying out atleast 15-20 times a day over the last two weeks.

No one attends. Any other ways to reach them ?????

I have applied at chennai on 22nd Dec and the status changed to "under process" on Dec 31st and its still under process.

What do you all infer/suggest ? Im literally clueless.

The wait is too long, shouldn't they hire more people, rather than holding people's passports forever? Does not justify the high fee in anyway.

hay you people wont belive every day from monday to friday i called more than 200 time and i am able to speak 3 times try between this time frame 2pm to 4 pm some times it rings they wont lift dont worry keep trying

Any updates anyone? It will be interesting to hear if anyone applied after the 4th Jan got their visa? Please do share information!! I am relying on this forum to set my expectations (sort of!) I applied on the 12th so it is a tensed situation as I am having to change tickets every now and then.

Another week has gone . No reply from BHC. They are not pickiing up the calls as well.

I had applied for dependant visa for my son under Tier -1 general category on 19 Jan. Still the status is showing as "Under process at BHC" . Appreciate if anyone applied around that time and got the visa?

Hello All,

My wife applied her tier-1 dependent visa on 7th Jan 2011. The status updated to "Processed application delivered to Blue Dart on 02 Feb 2011 AWB NO.: In transit" this morning(02 Feb 2011)..Hopefully we get her passport by tomorrow. I'm posting this so that people who are waiting for their visa's can do a rough estimate of the timelines. All the best!!

I too called up BHC just now , got reply saying I will getting my passport by next week decision is made, but VFS update is just the same.

I have been watching the forum for years and ago; I noticed that the dependant visa processing time has increased by a month or more than a month in the recent days.. In earlier, it used to be maximum of a week to get the visa processed, what happening now a days.? Processing time has increasing due to the heavy application for Tier1 due to the closure in Apr 2011 or it's going to take more than a month in coming days.

This forum is such a blessing ! My husband too applied for a tier 1 dependent visa in VFS chennai on 29 dec 2010. The status ever since has been "under processing in high commission". Everytime i call VFS they have no answer to help me.
Its been more than 1 month now and both of us are losing our patience. Its so frustrating.
Is anyone else been waiting for a month now ? What can be the reason for this delay ?
Would calling or emailing BHC help ?

Please advise as we are both so desperate.

Hi ,

Its better to call BHC , chennai and find your exact application status. Vfs will never update their site nor they respond properly on the phone/email.

But you should be very patient in calling BHC as the lines will be very busy or at times it rings , but no one picks it up. So keep on trying your luck and you will receive a positive response for sure.
