they want the date so they can postpone the visa start date incase you want to give them 6 months from now.

nothing to worry about at all.

Salaam everyone,

My husband handed his passport in today and they said it takes a minimum of 6 weeks, what's all that about? People have got it in one week so i dont see where 6 weeks has come from, did they say the same thing to anyone else when submitting their passports?

Yes its a minimun 6 weeks and a possible 3 month maximum. You just need to sit tight and spend sometime thinking how you are going the UK.

But some people have recieved them within a week so i dnt understand, why it could take so long to stamp a pssport and it is only going to islamabd not dubai. My husband is coming to the uk, thank you bro.

Do u think where you submit it makes a difference on how quickly you get it back?

I doubt it if they will let someone else collect the passport, how would you prove that the person collecting the passport is a relative? If the applicant goes to collect then can easilly verify by looking at the pasport.

If you have checked on the website and status has changed from under process at BHC to ready for collection then it is ready for collection. Don't wait around for a call or letter. You'd be waiting weeks, months and months and even that you may not get.

All the best

If they have only rejected your visa on the basis of incorrect marriage certificate, I am sure they will overturn as soon as you submit your documents for the appeal.

Although they usually consider your circumstances at the time you submitted the visa application. However in case if they enquire further into your new circumstances, you may get some problems (if you resign and do not have income coming into your account).

I would suggest to submit the correct marriage certificate/documents with translations if applicable, if this was the only issue for the refusal then the decision will surely be overturned during the review process by the ECM.
