Minister needs to sign

Post by creb99 » Tue Feb 01, 2011 3:14 pm

I asked this in the Timeline thread as well, may get more exposure here:

Started citizenship process in August 2008, got request for additional info in June 2010. I phoned this morning to get a status update and was told that it is at the minister for approval.

Anybody any idea how long to wait from here on?

Thanks!

You should get it in 4 to 6 weeks.

The minster does not sign the cert personally. They are most likely signed by some designated official in the DOJ on the order of the minister. However the signature of the sitting minister has to appear on the cert. Seeing as the dail is now dissolved, we do not have a minister until after the election and a new government is formed, there may not be any movement until we have a new minister.

In Ireland even if the dail dissolved current misiters still continue their work untill the elections and untill a new miniter takes over the office.
