Under what category did you apply? I apply two(2) days earlier than yourself and still waiting. Samnick applied about 12days earlier than yourself and still waiting... It is a terrible horrid wait!

Has anyone heard anything yet?

@Shabz: I too noticed that both our spouses applied on the same date. Let's hope we do not have to wait too long, inshallah...

Does anyone know if UKBA return original documents (e.g. passport, marriage certificate etc) once they have been checked, or is everything returned after application has been processed and a final decision made?
Also, just wondering if there is any chance of me getting my passport back before my hubby's as I have heard that they sometimes send the spouse's passport back before the applicant's? Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

Long wait

Post by daisyb » Tue Jan 25, 2011 9:44 am

Been waiting since end of August 2010, As of Dec they had not assigned our file to case worker. Fairly straight forward application w/o any real concerns. But the wait...... driving me crazy!

@ izzie: everything will be sent back to u only after processing ur application.

@daisyb: if u don mind me asking, how do u know ur application was considered only in december. Did they send u a letter or something? and i do agree-this wait is seriously nerve wrecking.

@samnick:any updates?

Thanks for that ilrqa... I guess that means we will have to postpone our travel plans :(

@daisyb: which category did you apply under?

I know someone who applied under Set M category (postal application) in August, and got their ILR in November... so I'm guessing we will have to wait for a similar length of time

Applied on the Nov 2nd (14 years),
Received letter of acknowledgment mid December but it was dated 3.11.2010,
ILR, received today dated Jan 20th.

Thank you all, I didn't post much but I sure did find lot of encouragement.

Got mine yesterday - but it was in person at Solihull

Post by just_got_it » Thu Jan 27, 2011 12:04 pm

Guys, got my ILR yesterday at PEO Solihull. It was a straight forward process and did not take more than 15 minutes. I have posted the details as a separate topic. I went there with lot of documents - but none as required except: Original HSPM approval letter and annual accounts of my company (3 years). Good Luck!

Congratulations both... that's excellent news!

For those still waiting like me...looks like UKBA is taking 2-3 months to grant ILR these days.

hi guys,
Can someone tell me how to track a prepaid royal mail delivery. The receipt has reference number to track only the one i sent but not the one i will receive. Will the reference number for both be the same?
The ilr wait is driving me nuts.

Sur,

No the ref nos would be different for both.

Generally you should have got 2 reference nos,one for the application you sent, other for the return envelope that you should have placed inside, provided u've put the return envelope by recorded delivery.

My hubby applied for his ILR (set m) on 5th January by post (special delivery). UKBA received his application on 6th January, and payment was also taken on the same day. We received the acknowledgement letter on 7th January. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long to get his ILR as the application was straight forward.

We want to go abroad mid-March this year, and are praying for UKBA to grant the ILR in time..
Hi Izzie

I applied on the same day for 10 yrs ILR. Please post the update if you hear from UKBA. Goodluck.

Not if you apply through the Settlement Checking Service where all important documents are copied and given back to you. Apart from the applicants passport.

Just bit clarification about this service, have they given your passport back and only kept your spouse passport .... am I right? how much this service cost extra and where do you have to go. I live in London.

Thanks. Kam

Hello everyone. I successfully received my passport today with ILR. There are no words to explain the relief. It has been the most frustrating wait ever. But all those who've applied- just hang in there. Just divert your thoughts elsewhere (i know its impossible) but i've learnt thinking about it continuously is seriously tormenting. Here are my timeline:

Application type: Set (O) 5 yrs WP with 1 dependent
posted on: 22nd Novenber 2010
Received by UKBA on : 23rd Nov
Acknowledgment letter dated: 23 rd Nov received after 2 days
Money taken: 23rd nov
ILR received: 1st Feb 2011
ILR Dated: 27th Jan 2011

I have received only my passports and KoL certificates. Not sure when i will receive the rest of the documents.
I wish all who are waiting success!

Cheers,
Sur

I sent ILR set(M) 18 January.
Received 19 January
Payment taken 20 January
Received acknowledgement letter about a week later, dated 19 January. And now just waiting! :)

Can't belive it guys... we received a package from UKBA this morning containing all the original supporting documents we sent as well as my passport and hubby's passport with ILR stamp issued on 1st Feb!!!

:D :D :D

I am totally amazed and very relieved at how quickly they dealt with his application as we applied on 5th January and I was expecting it to take at least 2 months but they barely took 4 weeks! So happy that we don't have to cancel our travel plans woohoo!!

Hope everyone waiting gets the good news soon!!! Good luck to all!

That is great news congratulations izzie. We are waiting to see what happens as we applied on the same category and dates as yourselves. As you have received your ILR in 4 weeks it gives a bit of hope to us that we shall be hearing something very soon.

By the way did they send via signed for delivery or through normal post.
