Travel on Old passport

Post by t070576 » Wed Feb 02, 2011 8:00 pm

Due to travel requirements the previous non british passport needs to be used to travel before applying for the British passport. Since naturalised does ukba inform the country of origin or stamp the previous passport to say you have acquired british citizenship? or will the old passport be ok to travel back to the country of origin with ilr stamp?

It's Bangladesh, which allows dual citizenship. does ukba inform the London embassy or stamp old passport to say that the holder has acquired british citizenship?

No.

No, unless there is a bilateral agreement between the (two) countries to follow such a practice.

If Bangladesh allows dual nationality they you worried about anything. You can use whatever passport (either Bangladesh or UK) in any place you like. If you not yet have British passport then use Bangladesh.

may be Bangladesh is ok but you have to check it. where Sri Lanka soon as you get British citizenship your SL citizenship is canceled unless u pay some thing like £2000 to SL high commission and apply for SL citizenship again. In my case it will be illegal to use SL passport .
