Do I need a Visa to Ireland?

Post by laspo24 » Thu Feb 03, 2011 11:53 pm

Got RC due to married to an Irish Citizen who has been exercising her treaty right here in the UK. Now we are looking to visit Ireland for wedding. Will I need to apply for Visa as she is coming with me? If yes, what document will I need to present and will I need to pay Visa fee too? thanks

No visa required if in possession of your passports and your UK residence card. That is, unless you are flying with Ryanair.

I don't think you will need a visa to entre Ireland as you're a UK resisdence.

Check this website for more details-

Being resident in the UK does not exempt someone from having to hold a valid visa for entry to Ireland if he requires one.

Visa required if nationality dictates it unless in possession of valid RC and travelling to join or accompanying EU national family member.

This has also been discussed here ad nauseam. Have a look through the Europe forum, in particular the stickies (right at the top).

just to clarify:
if you have stamp EUFAM 4, you do not need visa to visit any other EU country ONLY IF YOUR EU SPOUSE is travelling with you, or you are joining her in that country.
if hovewer your wife is not travelling with you, you do need the visa if you are from a visa required country.
