Query on applying Tier-1 dependent VISA

Post by rakshu_hs » Fri Feb 04, 2011 4:21 pm

Hello All,

My husband(Tier1 Migrant VISA holder) is travelling to UK in the 2nd week of March 2011 . He already has a job offer would be joining his work immediately.

I would like to know whether I can apply for the Tier-1 dependent VISA from India in the last week of march 2011 (15 days after my husband has started his work in UK) and state that my tier-1 main applicant is in UK for less than 12 months.

If this is possible, can you also let me know how much funds should I be showing for maintenance funds. (As i know it would only be 1600 pounds only for the dependent and nothing needs to be shown for the main applicant)

Regards,
Rakshu

The £1600 for the maintained fund. Plus £800 for Main Applicant and £800 Per dependent. That's mean
1. If Main Applicants is living in U.K. less then 12 month. dependent need to show latest bank balance certificate and bank statements. It's show £1600 + £800 + £800 = £3200.
2. If the Main Applicants is living in U.K. 12 month or more then 12 month. Dependent need to show bank Balance certificate and bank statements. It's show £800 +£533 = £1333

I dont think you need to show 1600+800+800 since the application is made only for the dependent and the main applicant already has the VISA.

My inference is that it should be only 1600 or worst case 1600+800 = 2400GBP

i heard from one of the consultant is,

If a main applicant already holds a Tier-1 visa, then the maintenance fund for the dependent is 1600 GBP/person.
A consultant told me that visa application fee for a Tier-1 dependent is INR 18k. but when i go through VFS website, it says INR 56k.

can anyone throw some light on this ?

its one single dependent VISA as there is no sub category like someone who can work or not work under Tier 1 Dependent (not sure about other categories).. . Every one with a Tier 1 Dependent can work .

Tier-1 dependent maintenance fund

Post by jitu » Mon Mar 07, 2011 2:48 pm

Friends,

i'm from India , I have a query regarding the maintenance funds for Tier-1 dependent. I need your kind advice on the below,

I got UK Tier-1 (general) visa in Jan-2011 and i'm planning to travel to UK in May-2011. Now I’m planning to apply for Tier-1 dependent visa for my wife, so that she can accompany me while travelling to UK in May-2011.

As I’m yet to travel to UK, I think the maintenance fund will be 4400 GBP (2800 for me and 1600 for my wife). For last 90 days I have maintained around 4000GBP in my account (individual) and more than 400GBP in my wife's deposit account (individual - but myself as nominee). Is this eligible for applying Tier-1 dependent visa for my wife or I have to maintain full 4400 GBP in either one of our account ?

the funds need not be one single account and hence you can show the funds from both the bank accounts. however for your account please make sure that you provide a letter stating that you are fine with the same.
