Switching from PSW to Tier 2 (G) without sponsorship?

Post by Matasa » Mon Feb 07, 2011 12:36 pm

HI All,

I hold a Tier 1 post-study visa expiring on the 1st June 2011. My current employer is willing to apply for a sponsorship license within the next coming weeks.
Do I really need a sponsorship letter from my employer if my score is as below?
Switching from the post-study worker category (30 Points)
Master's degree (15 Points)
Future expected annual earnings £24,000 to £27,999 (15 Points)

I have more than 50 points for attributes, am I able to apply without a sponsorship letter? :?:

Many thanks for your help.

you need to score enough points AND must have a COS to be able to submit TIER 2 application

cheers

Many thanks for the prompt reply. Can I apply in March even if my Visa expires in June?

Yes but it is unlikely your sponsor will be able to obtain a COS with a salary at that level. There may be a possibility if you are in a shortage occupation.

tier 2 will become much easier for in-country applicants after April. So, dont fret too much over it, if you find it difficult to switch over at this moment in time.... and keep a close eye on UKBA website

cheers

If they bring down TIER1 General they have to ease TIER2. They can't just abandon us ! lol

Looks like lot of people are in the same situation as us mate  :(
