misplelled surname in P60

Post by zeeshanpervez » Wed Feb 09, 2011 12:37 pm

Hi all,

I came to UK in mid Dec 2005 on work permit. I got HSMP in 2007 and renewed as TIER 1 general in 2009.

My company had a outsourced payroll who mispelled my surname on first P60 (from Dec 05 to March 06) and on my first 4 payslips. As this was my first job so I got my NI in around Jan 06 but the payroll company did not put that on the P60. However all of this was sorted from April 2006. So I waited for 5 years from April 2006 and now applying for my ILR in March 2011. I also got a letter from company confirming that due to payroll error I had missing information on my P60.

My query is would the first P60 and first four payslips (5 years old one) would be a problem? Any advice what I should do?

1. Is that a major spelling error? If you have the DOB etc right and have an employer's letter it shouldn't be a problem.

2. If you are applying in march 2011. your previous 5yr period would be from April 2006 - April 2011. You can submit P60s of '07,'08,'09,'10 and the last 11 month payslips. You can have the P60 of '06 covering Dec 2005-april 2006 handy in a file accompanied by the mentioned letter from employer incase if caseworker asks for it.

thats my two cents. However wait to see if you get any replies from expert members.
