My application

Post by sam800 » Sat Feb 05, 2011 9:35 am

Hi friends, details about my application below :

HSMP (JR) 4 Yr + 2 dependents
Complex case as I was out of UK for more than 6 months

Sent ILR Application on 12-oct-2010
Delivered on 13-oct-2010, never received acknowledgment letter
Received from bank letter saying cheque bounced on 19-oct-2010
Sent 2nd cheque, was deducted on 01-nov-2010

After checking out this forum, I called them on 31-jan-2011, they gave me case id, they told wait for some more time and said that 95% of cases are decided in 6 months.

also asked if we need to withdraw passport, how much time it takes. they said roughly 10 days.

:D :D :D

I am totally amazed and very relieved at how quickly they dealt with his application as we applied on 5th January and I was expecting it to take at least 2 months but they barely took 4 weeks! So happy that we don't have to cancel our travel plans woohoo!!

Hope everyone waiting gets the good news soon!!! Good luck to all!
On what basis did you apply ?

Good news guys, my wife got her passport back this afternoon through recorded post with ILR granted. We are soo happy :D . ILR was issued on 3rd Febuary 2011 at Liverpool. All in all it took few days short of 4 weeks. We can now get on with our plans and plan a much deserved holiday.

I only have one question the covering letter which was sent by the case worker states that she is returning the enlosed passport with an extension of stay in the UK. The actual ILR sticker itself states: Indefinate Leave to Remain in the UK. What's the difference ???

Good luck to everyone else. I'm sure you will hear good news very soon.

If any one reading thru these threads has made a application in december please post their dates.
lumera can u please say on which date did u make your application.
I posted mine on 12th Octoberm 2010. Some people who posted after that day have received their ILR. Ypu can only hope for the best and u can be lucky sooner than you imagine!
The GREAT I AM remembered me...
We got our ILR - Myself, wifey and babie. We're free from VISA restrictions at last after a very long wait of 4 months...

We're extremely grateful to the wonderful people who post their various and diverse experiences on this site. It has been of tremendous value...

Postal applications are a terrible waste of time if you can avoid them and your specific case is straight forward go premium as the extra pounds is better off than the TERRIBLE WAIT...I must admit that I achieve very little in the last few months as I waited in great trepidation unsure of what may become of my 5+ years of sojourn but we're glad that this is all over now...ILR was duly stamped 07/02/2011...a most wonderful birthday gift for my very blessed daughter....our joy is unspeakable! Glory be to GOD.

Once again, we must rally around all those still waiting and prepare those filing applications...this website has added value to me and I appreciate this so very much.... GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

My next struggle to get a UKBA letter back-dating our eligibility for settlement so we can start naturalisation / BC processes...

Backdated letter for qualification for naturalization

Post by sam800 » Fri Feb 25, 2011 7:14 pm

Hi lumera,

Thanks. No, I have not received any such letter. The letter accompanying this approval just says 'returning passport and docs with an extension of stay in the UK'.
Not very happy with their communications, as I did not even receive the acknowledgemet letter earlier from them when I had sent in the forms :-(.

Please could you please tell me more about qualification for naturalization for people like us who are under HSMP + Judicial Review category or point me to some website you know ?

When are you applying/eligible for naturalization ?

Thanks,
Sam

Hi Guys, My hubby has sent off the set(m) for ILR on 24th February 2011.
We have made payment by debit card.
Lets see how long it will take. from previous posts it seems like visa's are being granted within a month. I so hope my hubby also gets it within a month.

Our finances are not so good, that is why I am a bit concerned. However everything else is in order.

Will keep everyone posted.

Hi Sam,

The following path will give details on naturalisation:

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... alisation/

Eligibility for naturalisation actually depends to a large extent when you got your HSMP approval letter? This could be 4 or 5 years...When exactly did you get the letter and when did you get entry clearance?

Good luck...

Was this acknowledgement after the application or after the follow-up call?
