discretionary leave to remain

Post by chorc123 » Mon Feb 14, 2011 5:34 pm

Would anybody can tell me if we can claim some benefits?
We have 3 years DL, 2 British kids (12,14). Please refer to 14 years ILR application in this forum to see our story.
We are desparate to know if we can claim child benefit and housing and council tax benefit. My partner is working full time and I stay at home and have NI number but never use.
1. How can my partner apply for NI number? We went online to a website which required £40 for it. Is it true?
2. If we claim benefits, will it make a bad effect on ILR? as we are here 16 years this year. We can apply for 14 years rule.
3. Can we apply for a house from housing association? pay rent or apply for housing benefit.
4. Can I register with job centre to look for job?
Thank you very much.

Your partner is working full time but does not have a NI number?
Is he working cash in hand?
