Tier 1 Visa Approved - Sharing my Experience

Post by fireyboy11 » Tue Feb 15, 2011 1:09 pm

Hello Everyone,

I got my Tier 1 approved today. Since I am grateful to this forum for all the help and support so I would like share my experience with you so that others could benefit.

Here is my story:

2007 - Got my Bachelors degree from University in UK
2007 - Got PSW from 2007 to 2008
2008 - Extended my PSW until DEC 2009
March 2009 - Law changed - In order to apply for Tier 1 General, one need to have Masters. I didn't have Masters degree so I applied with my Bachelors degree and required earnings. Last date was 30th March 2009 before the new regulations came in so I applied with 12 wage slips and 11 Amounts shown on the Bank statement. I couldn't show 12 amounts on my bank statement because I used to receive pay on 31st of every month so I applied explaining in cover letter why couldn't I show the 12th payment in the bank statement
May 2009 - received refusal saying you were unable to show 12th payment
May 2009 - Filed JR (Pre-action Protocol)
July 2009 - Home office replied saying they are very busy and couldn't reply. They are still processing
OCT 2009 - Home office replied and refused to bulge. I consulted with my solicitor and he said you have weak case and if you lose this case then legally home office can ask you to pay their fee as well. Since my Solicitor wasn't sure so i decided to drop the case and come back to home country
DEC 2009 - Came Back after expiry of PSW
March 2010 - Got an IT contract with reasonable pay from a company in my home country
NOV 2010 - Finished my contract and after applying the uplift ratio, I was easily touching the required threshold so I decided to take a chance.
22 DEC 2010 - I applied on the last day and documents that I submitted were Contract agreement, payment vouchers from my company, Invoices, statement of work, accountant letter, degree certificate, bank statement and a letter from the company saying that they have paid me as I have claimed and they will file returns by end of this financial year.
10 Jan 2011 - Application under process
1 Feb 2011 - Application sent to VAC
15 Feb 2011 - Passport collected with two years Tier 1 Visa.

First of all, I am thankful to Allah and then all the members on this forum. I didn't contribute enough but I have always been an ardent reader.

Regards,

Fireyboy11
