Stamp 4 work rights

Post by kelznz » Mon Jan 24, 2011 3:56 pm

Hi All

Just wondering if anyone knows the exact rules around a stamp 4. I know that it's permission to remain and to work, but do you actually have to be employed for the duration of your stamp 4? Or if you left work in the last year would it still be okay to apply for residency at the end of the year?...

Thanks

Stamp 4s are usually given to spouse of Irish/EU family members, its not a big deal if one is unemployed to get it extended. See below for the list:

Huge sweeping statement there, largely inaccurate.

Sorry, does it say anywhere that "Stamp 4s are usually given to spouse of Irish/EU family members"?

also stamp 4 is given to the holders of the now defunct work visa scheme. I;m informed that this scheme no longer exists for new applicants but existing holders of work visa can still get it renewed.
