On 4th job now.
Application for self + spouse. Went alone.
Had these documents along with application:
* 2 photos each
* Life in the UK pass notification letters
* Latest employment contract
* Last 6 months pay slips
* Last 5 years P60
* Last 6 months bank statements from 3 bank accounts (one salary account, one joint account, and one savings account)
* Land registry document
* Marriage certificate
* Latest council tax bill - in joint names
* Driving licenses of both of us
* Photo copies of all the above documents.
Also had these documents in a bag.
* All previous employment contracts
* Home office documents
* Previous council tax documents
* Water bills
* All bank statements for the past 5 years
Appointment at 10.30. Reached 10.20 due to traffic. Car parked at NCP opposite UKBA.

Was sent to first counter after security checks. This is where token is issued.
The lady asked for :
* Application
* Life in the UK pass notification letters
* Last 3 months payslips
* My 2nd job's employment contract
* My 2nd job's P60
* My 3rd job's P60
Asked me if I needed to know the Life in the UK scores. Got to know them.
She told me one more final check (donno what that was). Then issued me a token with the application stamped valid.

Was sent to 1st Floor for payment.
The processing of the credit card that I had written on the application failed, due to Pin blocked by bank.
Gave him another card which was processed fine. Got a payment receipt.

Was asked to wait in the waiting area until my token number was called.
In 10 minutes, I was called.
Case worker asked for :
* Token/Payment receipts
* Application
* Passports
* Photos
* Life in the UK pass notification letters
* Last 3 months payslips
* Last 3 months bank statements
* Last 5 years P60
* Latest Employment contract
Did some checks. Then asked me for employment letter. I said I don't have that and all I have is the contract that I have given him.
Did some more checks. Went away for some time. Came back and did some more checks. The paper he had when he came back had my previous work permit history with employer details in it.
He went again to take photo copies of some documents.
And finally after about 40 minutes, he said that he is satisfied with the documents and he is happy to grant ILR.
And that I could collect the passport in another 30mins to an hour. He gave me back all my documents.It took about 1.30-2hours for my token to be called again. Collected the passport, verified and left.

My only advice is to carry all documents that you have. You never know what they would ask.
