you will get it within 10 working days max if you submit all the relevant docs.
Check the passport.ie website, it has the details.
Also note that if your birth certificate is not in long form, submit your original birth cert along with the long form affidavit (same format as you did for DoJ citizenship application).

I dont think there's any difference, but the passport office themselves recommend that you do it by Post (Passport Express - Available at all post offices)

Congraz M'adunra, I told you so....this week.

If you do your pass in person, they'll check everything there and it will be quicker (a week, I'd say). So if you go there monday, you'll have it Friday (collecting it yourself in person there)....and if you want to receive by post then expect Monday(depot) and next Monday/Tuesday (collection via post).

Well book a vacation M'yAdunra....

You are welcome adura. Passport express offers guaranteed 10 working days return for the passport, so I'll recommend this, but if you are pressed for time. You may want to attend the passport office in person, but you will have to bring proof or urgency e.g booked flight, scheduled engagement etc. Goodluck and stay blessed.

From passport.ie, a new service, get your passport in 3 days....pay more though'

http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=83334

---- cut here ----

A new service to prioritise applications for those with immediate travel plans has also been introduced. Applications with proof of travel are now guaranteed to be processed within three working days. Applicants should make contact with the Passport Service & provide this proof where applicable. An additional fee may apply in respect of such new applications. This is the fastest turnaround time for all applications except for those whose travel is required for urgent humanitarian reasons. This 3 day service applies to applications submitted in Ireland only.

I applied for Passport on the 14th of Feb, however status still says registered and the approval date is listed as 24th Feb, but since the application status hasn't moved I am not sure I will get it this week.

Krb.

I called the PP office today afternoon, was on hold for about 20 min. I was finally put through to the person who is processing my application. I was asked whether I had immediate travel plans to which I truthfully replied no. I was then told that they are a bit behind schedule and that my application would be processed in the next 2 days.
When I checked this evening, my application status now says, being checked.
