T1(general) entry clearance - need clarification

Post by subbala » Tue Feb 22, 2011 11:47 pm

Hi

While going thru the T1 (general) guidance doc, I read this on page#10 -

45. Applicants who need to leave the UK are advised to ensure that they have sufficient leave remaining to enable them to gain re-entry into the UK, as there is no longer any provision for Entry Clearance under this route. Applicants who leave the UK must therefore re-enter the UK before their existing leave expires.

could somebody clarify what this means -

"there is no longer any provision for Entry Clearance under this route. "

btw, i'm currently in UK on T2(ICT) and planning to switch to T1(general)
and wondering if there's anything i should be aware of, wrt the above point, in case I travel to home country and return to UK after getting T1G ??

As usual, thanks much for all the great help!
