Which Work Visa?

Post by Scared&Confused » Thu Feb 10, 2011 4:54 pm

Hi,

Which working visa would you need if you just want to do a bit of work here and there (bit of part time) while travelling? There used to be the Working Holiday Maker Visa (sic), though it doesn't seem to be available anymore, and I don't know which visa would qualify for this now. Hope someone can help. Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post - wasn't sure which one it fitted into.

Hey,

Thanks for responding, it's for a friend, and they are Canadian.

Youth Mobilty visa is the closest thing to the Working Holiday Maker visa.
Tell your friend to read the guidance in this post.

Apologies for the delay, thank you for the links, I'll read up on them to see if they are eligible. So you definitely need a visa to do holiday work, I thought that but wanted to double check for their sake, and the information on the main visa website was confusing. Thanks again :)

yeah, they would definitely not be able to do any work if they just came here as a visitor, so the Youth Mobility route is the way to go.
